£216,744 for Partnerships in Play
The lottery funding is for a three year period and will focus on three key areas in a recently produced Play Partnership strategy:
Play Rangers
The Play Rangers project will enable two dedicated, qualified and skilled play workers to provide an adult presence within the wide range of recreational open spaces found throughout the District.
The Play Rangers will be able to support children and young people's play opportunities, by organising (if the children wish), a range of games and activities.
Natural Play Space
This project will provide an all inclusive natural play space to be designed in full consultation with children and young people. Using a range of natural and also readily available materials, it will enable a play environment to be created that is totally individual and also owned by the children and young people who will play a major role in the design and development processes.
Creative Play
Creative Play is an all season project and will provide children and young people with access to a diverse range of opportunities in various locations across the District throughout the year.
This project will be run by the Arts Development team of Mid Beds District Council and provide all inclusive play activities for children and young people who prefer creative play over more physical activities.
All of the projects provide direct links to the five objectives identified by the Mid Bedfordshire Play Partnership and the seven Best Play Objectives, the nationally recognised quality indicator for play provision.
