Party Safely This Christmas
Licensing and Environmental Health Officers from Mid Beds District Council together with Trading Standards officers, Police and Fire & Rescue officers are committed to establishing a safe environment in local licensed premises.
They will be visiting premises throughout the district from early December to ensure they are complying with the Licensing Act 2003 and, through a combination of education and where necessary enforcement action, they will seek to improve the operating standards across all the premises.
Inspections will check to ensure that premises are safe for both customers and employees. Officers will look at:
·Compliance with licensing conditions
·Under age sales
·Fire safety
·Door supervisors
·Health and Safety
·Food Hygeine
·Overcrowding
·Drug awareness
Richard Alder, Licensing officer for Mid Beds District Council said: “It is essential that licensees take their responsibilities to their customers and their staff seriously. We are pleased to be working with our partners on this joint initiative and hope that this leads to further working and a clear and noticeable improvement in standards across all premises in the district.”
