Fund Raising Golf
Local businesses sponsored nine holes on the course, and funds were raised by a raffle, bag draw and putting competition.
The winning pair in the golf competition were Trevor Saunders and Simon Andrews, both Mid Beds Planning Officers, from a team called "The 4 Irons" – they scored a magnificent 48 points. Second place went to "The Ford Flyers" a team from the John R Ford Garage in Shefford with 45 points on count-back and the third place winners were Rob Eglinton and Bill Bagnall, from Aragon Housing Association, who also scored 45 points.
The Nearest the Pin winner was Lorna Harvey and the Longest Drive was won by David John. The putting competition which was won by Clive Jones (Mid Beds’ Director of Customer Services) and a "Bag Draw" for a Wilson golf bag which went to Graham Lennox from Aragon Housing Association.`
Councillor Doreen Gurney, Chairman of Mid Beds District Council said: “We were very fortunate to be able to enjoy a lovely warm sunny day on an excellent golf course in a lovely setting. I’d like to congratulate all the prize winners and thank everyone for taking part and helping to raise so much money for Keech Cottage and St John's Hospices.”
