Climate change has been caused by an increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere caused by both natural and man-made resources, but ultimately the result of human activity relating to the use of fossil fuels and the extent that we have cut down forests for agricultural use and other developments.
Human behaviour has contributed to rising global temperatures resulting in rising sea levels, changes in weather patterns and increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather conditions, which are predicted to become more frequent and more dangerous in the future.
Whilst we cannot reverse what has already taken place or stop the effects resulting from that, we can all take action now that will lessen the adverse effects on the future of the planet and the lives of our children.
There are many ways we can help to slow down the climate change process.
Mid Beds District Council pledged its commitment on the 16th May 2007, when it signed the Nottingham Declaration during our Climate Change Conference - Moving to Another World.

It is also looking to work with residents and the business community to develop a plan of action to reduce the districts Co2 emmissions and our carbon footprint.
