Best Value Performance Plan
This is the last Best Value Performance Plan (BVPP) produced by Mid Beds District Council. It has been produced in response to the legislative framework set out by the Government under the Local Government Act 1999. The Act sets out the requirement for all local authorities to demonstrate that the services they supply are in accordance with Best Value. As part of this process each authority is required to produce a Best Value Performance Plan such as this by no later than the end of June each year.
The Audit Commission undertake the annual audit of best value performance indicators and plans in October, and have issued an unqualified report: Auditors Report on Best Value Performance Plan 2007/08.
The format of the Performance Plan has been amended to comply with the Department of Communities and Local Government Circular 02/04. In response to the changes introduced by this circular the BVPP has been designed to be of use mainly to the Members and Officers within the council who have responsibility for delivering quality local services.
