Where to Stay

Mid Bedfordshire has a range of accommodation establishments in town and country locations. The establishments within the Mid Beds District that are featured within this Where to Stay section are all registered with the Mid Beds Tourism Dapartment and the East of England Tourist Board. New for 2005 onwards - We now have additional accommodation establishments that are from the surrounding area, including Bedford, Dunstable and Milton Keynes.

Prices
Prices quoted are correct at the time of publication. Prices quoted are given as From, which is indicated by a '+' symbol, this denotes all minimum starting prices from 2005; prices will vary from year and season. You are advised to confirm rates with your chosen establishment before making a reservation.

Making a Reservation
It is usual for the proprietor to request a deposit to secure a reservation. Deposits are usually non-refundable. It is advised you have written details of the accommodation booking conditions including terms of cancellation, time of arrival, departure etc. before sending money.

Complaints
All details printed uin this guide are accepted in good faith by our office. If you have a problem or complaint with your accommodation then we advise that you talk to the manager/owner of the establishment, so they can endeavour to resolve the difficulties in question.

Quality assured grading system
Some of these establishments have been inspected by the English Tourism Council (ETC), the AA or RAC and have been given certain awards as a measure of the facilities and services. The description and explanation of the awards are as follows:

Star Ratings for hotels
The star rating symbolises the level of service, range of facilities and quality of guest care that you can expect. Hotels are required to meet a progressively higher standard as they move up the scale of one to five stars.

Diamond ratings for Guest Accommodation
The diamond ratings reflect visitor expectations whereby quality is seen as more important than facilities and service. Guest Accommodatiion is required to meet progressively higher standards as they move up the scale of one to five diamonds.

Self Catering
Self Catering properties are awarded one to five stars to indicate the range of facilities and equipment that you can expect. The more stars, the wider the range offered.

Caravan and Campsites
Caravan and Campsites are rated from one to five stars. More stars indicate a greater level of facilities and quality.

Gold And Silver Awards
These are awarded to those establishments which not only achieve the overall quality required for their rating, but also reach the highest levels of quality in those specific areas which guests identify as being really important to them.
