Moggerhanger Park is a Grade 1 listed Georgian Country House, designed by Sir John Soane. It is set in 33 acres of parkland originally landscaped by Humphry Repton. Restaurant and Tea Rooms open throughout the year. Do visit the first Restaurant to be awarded a Bedfordshire ‘Food Mark’! Guided Tours of the historic rooms run daily throughout the summer. Functions and conference facilities are also available. Moggerhanger House has 3 executive conference suites making it an ideal venue for conferences, promotions and corporate entertainment. Two new attractions at Moggerhanger Park in 2007: Our new visitor centre and exhibition will be open from the beginning of February to coincide with our annual Snowdrop Walk event (Saturday 3rd February to Sunday 11th February). This exhibition gives details of the restoration work together with an outline of the history of the house. Moggerhanger Park was originally owned by Godfrey Thornton, governor of the Bank of England in 1794 - 96 and cousin to William Wilberforce. 2007 marks the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade and we will be commemorating this significant anniversary by opening a special exhibition on the campaign to abolish slavery as well as holding a number of events during the summer.
