Benefits of 1APP
- A simpler, more transparent planning process
- Familiarisation with one form for all application types and all councils
- Standard information (e.g. your address and contact information) so it does not need to be re-entered for future applications when applying online
- A better chance of submitting a valid planning application
- The electronic form determines the correct planning consent required
- 1APP allows the completion of a single online application form for multiple types of consent, i.e. listed building consent and a full planning application
How will it work?
The standard application form is an electronic application form hosted by the Planning Portal. From the Planning Portal website, the applicant or agent will be asked a series of questions to help determine which application form to fill in. A detailed form specific to the proposal will be generated once this procedure is finished.
The new form will cover a range of application types, including:
- Householder applications;
- Full planning permission
- Outline planning permission, including approval of reserved matters
- Listed Building consent
- Conservation area consent
- Advertisement consent
- Treeworks (including trees protected by a TPO and trees in a conservation area) and Hedgerow removal
- Certificate of lawfulness of existing and proposed use for development
Along with the electronic planning application form, supporting plans and documents can also be sent electronically as part of the online application process. You can also pay online.
Will I still be able to get a paper copy of an application form?
Yes, Paper copies of application forms are available from:
Customer Services at Reception, Mid Beds District Council, Priory House, Monks Walk, Chicksands, Shefford, SG17 5TQ
Also, at the Citizone Points of Presence (PoPs) at Woburn Street, Ampthill and Saffron Road, Biggleswade (Old Court Houses)
PoPs opening times are:
- 8.45 am to 5 pm Monday
- 8.45 am to 5 pm Tuesday
- 9.30 am to 5 pm Wednesday
- 8.45 am to 5pm Thursday
- 8.45 am to 4 pm Friday
