Householder Development Pre-application advice
If you would like advice on whether you need to submit a Householder planning application for any work you may be considering in the future, you can download the pdf form attached on the right and complete and return as instructed on the form. Alternatively a hard copy of the document is available at the Council offices at Priory House, Chicksands, or by contacting the Customer Services Team at the Citizone PoPs at Biggleswade or Ampthill on 08452 30 40 40 or email customer.services@midbeds.gov.uk. Further information about the Citizone PoPs.
Please remember to provide all of the information requested to enable us to give you a quick and accurate response. We will endeavour to provide you with a free opinion as to the need for planning permission within 28 days of receipt of a fully completed form. You should be aware that this will only be an officer opinion. For a formal determination you are able to make an application under Sections 191 or 192 of the Town and Country Planning Act (as amended). Section 191 can be used to establish the lawfulness of existing development or use and 192 for proposed development or use. This process will require a formal application to the Council and will attract a fee.
