Further Proposed Modifications

At the Council’s Executive on 28 April 2004, Members considered the 1200 responses to the public consultation on the Proposed Modifications to the Local Plan which took place Nov-Dec 2003.

Members agreed that the majority of Proposed Modifications should move forward to adoption and also approved the publication of a set of Further Proposed Modifications – published for a 6 week consultation period. However, Members are still considering issues relating to land east of Maulden Road, Flitwick. Notice is formally given of the withdrawal of Further Proposed Modifications FPM04, 19, 21 and 22, Proposed Modifications PM248 and PM6.7 (part relating to this site). The Council has also resolved to withdraw the decisions of the Executive on 7th March 2003 and Council on 16th April insofar as they related to Land East of Maulden Road, Flitwick.

A further report was presented to the Council's Executive on 9th June 2005 to enable the Public Local Inquiry Inspector's Recommendation in respect of this site to be considered afresh. Members decided NOT to accept the Inspector's Recommendation that the land should be excluded from the Green Belt.
