Clophill Conservation Area Appraisal & Review
An exhibition to launch the review of the Clophill Conservation Area & the publication of the draft Clophill Conservation Area Appraisal took place on Saturday 24 November at the Village Hall, Clophill.
The consultation period ran from 24 November 2007 for 6 weeks ending on 4 January 2008 (now closed).
The appraisal considers the character, appearance & setting of the conservation area, as well as identifying areas for possible future enhancement, that would benefit the amenity of the conservation area. The appraisal seeks to identify what comprises the special interest of the conservation area & contributes to the familiar & cherished local scene & the sense of local distinctiveness, that is so important in defining the identity, harmony & unique sense of place.
There are a number of relatively minor proposed amendments, 3 additions & 1 subtraction to the conservation area boundary, that were defined at the last review in 1991 (the conservation area was first designated in 1973).
