Summer Holiday Activities for 2008

Are you looking for something to do during the Summer Holidays? Then look no further, come and join in with one of the sports and arts activities that are happening near you. The Sports Development Team and Youth and Community Arts are delighted to offer 2 fun holiday playschemes: Run Riot with Sport and Arts and Ants In Your Pants.

Run Riot with Sport and Arts
This hugely successful multi-activity sport and arts scheme is aimed at children between the ages of 8-13 years. The structured timetable may include activities such as drama, dance, creative arts and crafts, as well as physical activity like team games, football, rounders, basketball, sports tournaments, dodgeball and much more.
To help busy families, the hours are 9.00 - 4.00pm, Monday to Friday. Sessions will be based on a variety of venues throughout the district.
Ants In Your Pants
Fun sessions of sport and arts are offered for younger children aged 5 - 8 years. The Ants In Your Pants team will provide a creative and active programme of activities specifically for this age range.
Play Rangers - Play in the Park Sessions
Also available during the summer holidays are our Play Ranger Sessions that take place in 20 parks across Mid Beds. All ages are welcome and all sessions are free of charge.

Other information
All of the Mid Beds Sports Development Staff are over the age of 18, have at least 1 sports coaching qualification and experience of working with children. All staff must pass the Mid Beds training which includes First Aid, Child Protection, Working with children and Adapting Games for Children with disabilities. All staff are checked through the Criminal Record Bureau and references are obtained from previous employers before commencement of the job.
