Arts Awards

Arts Awards – a three level scheme - Bronze / Silver / Gold - are accredited by the Qualifications & Curriculum Authority within the National Qualifications Framework and run by Arts Council England in partnership with Trinity Guildhall. Deutsche Bank is the currently the Access Fund Partner.

This exciting scheme is for 11-25 year olds and is the first of its kind to recognise their development through the arts. It requires them to make creative choices, to set their own challenges and to share their skills and achievements with their peers and others. Similar schemes exist for Sport e.g. Sports leadership.

Hilary Western, MBDC’s Youth & Community Artsworker (a trained musician) and two other Mid Beds artists have recently been trained as Arts Awards advisers (Bronze & Silver). Hilary is also a Gold Award adviser. All have current CRB checks and a wealth of workshop and other experience across a broad range of arts disciplines and genres.

There is a Mid Beds Awards Centre (based at MBDC) artslink@midbeds.gov.uk that takes care of all the administration of the scheme.
