I am a young volunteer, how can I get some recognition?
Depending on your age there are several different ways you can get recognised. The most widely recognised is the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme, tel: 01908 576322 or Millennium Volunteers, which is ideal for those who do regular volunteering and can complete 100-200 hours of unlimited voluntary service (about 4 hours a week). It is however limited to those over the age of 16-24, for more information on Millennium Volunteers call 01582 472222.
If you are under 16 you can get the Youth Volunteering Certificate (contact 01234 221929) which is recognised throughout the county and can be awarded for any amount of volunteering. Also you could go for the Youth Achievement Award and for more information about this contact the County Youth Service on 01525 630077.
