Refuse Collection

We operate an alternate week collection system of household waste from domestic properties within the District, with 95 % of properties utilising a wheeled bin for collection and a small number using a black plastic sack system where wheeled bins are not suitable.

Dry Recyclables and Garden Waste is collected on one week and Residual Household Waste is collected on the following week.

Assisted collections for householders with special needs are available upon request, as are clinical waste collections from private dwellings.

Please note that the refuse collection operatives will only collect refuse that is stored in your wheelie bin and will not take side waste (rubbish sacks), unless a prior arrangement has been made with one of the Contract Inspectors.

Please remember to have your bin out for collection by 7am on your collection day, our contractors occasionally have to vary the collection route they take due to operational reasons and this ensures that your bin will not be missed.

The normal collection point will be the boundary of your property and the highway unless a specific location has been agreed.

If your collection has been missed or your wheelie bin has broken or been stolen/lost then you should report this to us as soon as possible on 08452 304040 and we will arrange collection or delivery of a replacement bin. We can also be contacted at Customer.Services@midbeds.gov.uk
