Mid Beds District Council places a high priority on tackling homelessness. Most homelessness is preventable and we aim to act as early as possible before a problem worsens. We can give a personal service with options and advice to suit. There are specific targets that we have set out to combat homelessness.

Mid Beds District Council places a high priority on tackling homelessness. Most homelessness is preventable and we aim to act as early as possible before a problem worsens. We can give a personal service with options and advice to suit. There are specific targets that we have set out to combat homelessness:

  • Strengthening the help available to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness
  • Develop more strategic approaches and new responses to tackle homelessness
  • Reduce the levels of the main causes of homelessness
  • Reduce repeat homelessness
  • End the use of B&B hostels for homeless families with children except for in emergencies

We are looking to review the Homeless Strategy in 2007 and try to improve where possible on the existing strategy.
