Street naming & numbering

The Council is responsible for street naming and numbering providing addresses to developers and individuals for new properties and for renumbering houses within streets when need arises. If you wish information about street naming and numbering our contact details are below.

If you need to report a problem with a street name sign please complete the Street Nameplate Problem form.

Approval to Name or Re-name your property
If you wish to seek approval to name or rename your property, please contact the Building Control Department. Please note that if you wish to name your property, this should only be in addition to using the official street number. If your property has a name only, then the proposed name needs to be checked against the Royal Mail database and officially confirmed to you by the Council.  There is an administration charge of £54.50 which should be submitted with your application. Cheques should be made payable to Mid Beds District Council.
